CERT

Community Emergency Response Team

WHO WE ARE

Apex CERT is an all-volunteer organization working to prepare the citizens of Apex for whatever may come our way. We have regular monthly training and offer classes for new members twice a year.

GET INVOLVED

Why take CERT training? Well, it's kind of like car insurance. You might never need it. In fact, you hope you won't. But if the occasion arises, CERT training, like car insurance, means you're as ready as you can be to help yourself, your family, and your neighborhood in an emergency situation.

CONTACT US

Whether you are interested in CERT training for yourself, or would like to have us come to your church group, scout troop, or neighborhhod, get in touch and let us know how we can serve you.

TESTIMONIAL
ABOUT CERT

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact Apex and trains them in basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search-and-rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist themselves, their families, and others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in Apex. This is a free, voluntary program that encourages members of our community to be prepared in any emergency. Individuals, groups of friends and family, and organizations are all encouraged to join us!

"Being part of Apex CERT has taught me new practical skills and increased my confidence in my abilities to help my family and my community if an emergency or natural disaster should occur."

- Jenny Ahler, team member since 2010
